It's Been Awhile!

It has been so long since I have posted anything on our blog!

A lot has been going on in the Cox household.

The major thing..... we are expecting our precious boy David, in April!!

This is him at 19 weeks

We have been trying to take weekly photos of me. This is week 20! Half way there.

Crock Pot Ribs

Crock Pot Ribs:

•  Spice ribs (salt, pepper, and any other spices you like)
• 1 onion
• 1 bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce 

Spice your ribs and place them under the broiler for around 15 minuets. Drian the excess fat.

Slice your onion and place in crock pot. Slice your ribs so they fit in the crock pot. Cover with barbecue sauce.

Cook 9-10 hours on low or 4-5 on high.

I get this all ready the night before, so when I get up the next day all I have to do is plug it in and set it on low and go to work. Come home from work and the main dish of dinner is done!

Coxes Got To Eat

I am trying to do better at planning a menu fore each week.


This way we know what to buy at the grocery store and to make it easier on us since we both work.


Monday- Taco salad (made with ground turkey)
Tuesday- Crock Pot ribs- nothing better than coming home and having the main course done
Wednesday- BBQ Chicken- Mr. C sure can grill
Thursday- Spaghetti with turkey meat
Friday- Pork Tenderloin on the grill.


I can not wait.

Happy Nurses Day

Today is national Nurses Day!

My husband got me flowers for nurses day.

One girl I work with got me coffee and a breakfast sandwich

The doctor I work for gave me a real sweet card with a gift card, and bought my lunch!

Another lady I work with gave me a real nice pen and post-it set.

Today was a great day! I love my job. It's so rewarding.

Earth Day 2010

HAPPY EARTH DAY

What do you do to help to mother earth?

1. Pur water pitcher. So we don't waste money on bottles and throw away plastics.

2. Recycle, reduce, reuse. We recycle all of our cans and newspapers. 

3. Compact fluorescent bulbs. Theses bulbs are in every place except our kitchen.

According to Energy Star, this bulb will save you about 30 dollars over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months. Uses 75% less energy and last 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.

4. Reusable grocery bags. I try to keep them in my car so they are always on hand.

5. Vegetable garden. We have a garden at Cody's parents house.

It feels so good to grow your own food.

Saturday was my brothers senior prom. This made me feel so old! I remember when he went for his first day of Kindergarten. Now senior prom. Yikes.

Yes those are combat boots with her prom dress and her socks are argyle. And yes she rocked it!

 She owned the fact that yes it's prom, yes I'm in a white dress, and yes I wear combat boots!

Smart girl, at least her feet did not hurt at prom or her toes get stepped on!

She inspired me to have more confidence in my self.

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was very eventful. 

Saturday:

 All of my family including Cody's family was supposed to come to my house for a late lunch and dye eggs. I had everything done, just waiting on people to arrive.

We got a call from Cody's mom saying that she was taking my father-in-law to the ER. Earlier in the week he had pulled something in his leg, so we thought it was due to that. No, he was having signs of a heart attack!

So of course we go to the ER.

We are so thankful that it turned out not to be.

He also found out today that the pulled muscle in his leg, is a ruptured tendon! OUCH!! Thank the good Lord above no surgery and no heart attack.

So after all that we came home and my mom and brother came over to dye eggs.

Sunday:

We go up to go to church with Cody's family. A very good lesson was given. The most amazing thing was that my brother in law got baptized!! What an amazing day. I know the angels in heaven were rejoicing. 

Then after we went to Cody's parents for lunch and then to his aunts house to hide eggs for the little ones.

FMM: SPRING!!

1. Favorite things about Spring:

    Fresh air, longer day light, my flowers, flip-flops

2. What I'm doing for Spring Break:

     I have to work, so no SB for me. BOO

3. Favorite Spring flower:

     Tulips

4. Do you have a garden? 

     We are working on one at my in-laws. We tried to have a small garden, we have to much shade.

5. If so, what do you grow.

    Plan to grow: tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, spinach, squash, potatoes, and onions. I am sure there are somethings I left out. 

6. Do you do Spring cleaning?

     No. I do small cleaning projects throughout the year. I clean out my closest in the spring.

7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it's "officially" spring, doesn't mean that it feels like it for some of you}

      Today was around 64. Yesterday and the weekend was a different story. Cold rain from Saturday evening to Sunday night.

Feels Like Monday

 WOW!! Today was just one of those days where you just want to go back to bed and do it all over again.
        It felt like a Monday on a Tuesday. I'm sure we all have this kind of day. 

Work was just crazy. Crazy questions, procedures, just crazy.

Came home to a dog who had done his #2 duties all over my living room. We have had Bo since August and he has had a few accidents but nothing like this. Poor thing must not feel good.

SO with that said hardwood or laminate floors are in our future!!

Then tomorrow is the hubby's birthday and I was supposed to make cupcakes for him. With the above said, I did not feel up to making cupcakes.

SO now a few things that make me happy:

The thought of being at the beach. I am looking forward to July 19th.

I am sure tomorrow will be better. I am glad it is one day closer to Friday.

Tractor, Skirt, and Flowers

Yesterday we went to my in laws house to work on a garden that we are planning. Since it had just rained we did not get a whole lot done. We mainly went to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday, which was Wednesday.

I think his tractor is sexy.

I said I would keep you up to date on the skirt. The first week was washing and ironing the fabric, second week was cutting the fabric. So i did not want to bore you with those things. This week was pleats and waistband. I'm so excited that it is starting to look like a skirt.

I am so excited that spring is just around the corner. I have so many flowers in my yard that came from my dad's house that I love.

Sew Along!

I got my supplies today and it starts tomorrow.

Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Friday:

Cody planned a date night. We went to eat and to see Dear John. It was such a great movie. If I had not been in a movie theater I would have been crying. Go see it if you have not.

Saturday:

I got to sleep in. I hardly ever sleep that late, so I figure I must have need the sleep or my body would not have let me sleep that long.

Then I went for a little retail therapy.

I got a new comforter set.

I also got a new pair of JS shoes. Shoes are my thing.

Sunday:

We went to church. A wonderful lesson was taught on Gods Amazing Grace. Such a wonderful lesson and so much to think about.

Then went to my aunts baby shower. This is baby # 4 for her but the 1^st girl.

Now home to watch the Super Bowl. I just watch for the commercials.
